Single Sign-On and CRM Integration
GTM Forms integrates with CRM systems through single sign-on (SSO):
- Click the GTM Forms button within the CRM
- System automatically logs in using CRM credentials
Once signed into the CRM you will have access to all leads assigned to you.
If no GTM Forms account exists, one is created automatically with appropriate permissions
- Client information synchronizes from CRM to GTM Forms
- User is directed to the relevant lead profile
WARNING: Information Synchronization
The synchronization process follows these rules:
- CRM as Source of Truth: All client information originates in the CRM
- Automatic Updates: Clicking GTM Forms button from CRM updates client information updates automatically
- Manual Sync Required: If you update information is updated in the CRM after initially opening GTM Forms, you must use the "Sync Personal Information" button to apply changes
- Form-Specific Syncing: Each document requires individual synchronization; updating one form does not update others
Troubleshooting Account Type Errors
Unauthorized Account Type Error
Scenario 1: Multiple Email Addresses
When a user has changed email addresses (e.g., transitioning from one company domain to another), multiple accounts may exist in the system. Attempting to log in via SSO with the new email may find an old account with incorrect permissions.
What happens:
- User clicks GTM Forms button in CRM with new email credentials
- System finds existing account associated with old email
- Account has client-type permissions instead of CM permissions
- Login fails with "Unauthorized Account Type" error
Solution:
- Contact support to consolidate accounts or update account permissions to match your current role.
Scenario 2: Incorrect Account Classification
Accounts may be incorrectly classified during creation, resulting in permission mismatches.
Prevention:
- Use consistent email addresses across all systems
- Notify administrators when changing email addresses or company domains
- Verify account type after initial setup
- Test access before beginning work with clients
